Shirt & tie are just stand-ins! Needed to see the jacket with something similar on underneath.
Last night I top-stitched the front, got the collar put in and started on the epaulets. I’m going to have to take the collar back off because it’s slightly too big and I need to put a couple of darts in so the whole thing lays right – in the photo above I’ve got the darts quickly pinned in so it all looks ok.
But it’s not pinned up here – but I did pin the buttons on for this picture!
And you can see one of the epaulets.
I cut the fabric out for both epaulets at the same time. First one turned out great. Second one looked like a misshapen lump. I didn’t want to take it apart so I just recut it. That one looked like a misshapen lump. Again, didnt want to take it apart, so I recut AGAIN and THAT one looked like a misshapen lump with a tumor. At that point I said F it, I apparently need to go to bed and do this tomorrow.
So tonight – put the darts in, put the collar back in, make the other epaulet, put sleeves together.
And Chase just told me that my wig and SSR pins arrived today! Yay! So that means I have everything now, I can possibly finish the whole thing this weekend…..
